Fix your walls before installing wallpaper

We just came from a house in Algonquin, where a wallpaper was being installed, but removed from the wall. In the process, the wall was damaged.

Before new wallpaper is installed, you will need to fix this wall

If you have nics, holes, runs/drips, cracks etc in your wall- you are gonna need to fix thos spots befoe hanging a mural on your wall

Prime your walls for a great installation

Wallpaper is meant to be removed from your wall. That means the prep work needs to be donne before the wallpaper is installed to your walls. This means a sealer/walllpaper primer.

We are huge fans of guardz and roman 977.

Make sure the wall is smooth, make sure the wall is a uniform sheen- no dul and shiney spots- it all needs to look the same

Use the Right paste for your Wallpaper!

Every wallpaper is unique in one way or another. Some wallpaper is Pre pasted, some is peel and stick (YUK) and then you have unpasted wallpaper.

Pre pasted like the one we installed is easy, but also tricky- you dont want too much water.

The booking is important- it needs the time to expand and relax. Read the instructions!

Use a level for straight lines!

When you install wallpaper- use a level or laser to make sure the wallpaper you are installing is put up right!

The last thing you want is to have crooked wallpaper on the wall.

Very the Pattern Matches!

Once you install a piece of paper, Look it over- are there any defects?

Install the 2nd mural panel- how does the patter line up? If there are issues with the pattern- STOP!

Verify you are installing correctly. Do the mural panels overlap or are they supposed to but up net to each other?

If all instructions are followed, no damage to the wallpaper, and the pattern is off, call the place the paper came from- after 2 or 3 sheets are installed they will not replace damaged goods.
