D’Franco Painting & Wallpaper has been serving homeowners and businesses in the northwest suburbs of Chicago since 2003. We handle interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, and wallpaper installation and we do all of it with a level of preparation and professionalism that most contractors skip. That same standard applies to how we treat our team.

Open Positions
Painter Experience with basic painter tools is required. You should be able to start a job, work it through to completion, and maintain a clean jobsite throughout. We still run every new hire through our training process, we don’t just hand you a brush and walk away.
Lead Painter This role requires 2–3 years of experience. You should be comfortable running a jobsite on your own, reading and understanding work orders, setting up and breaking down cleanly, and mentoring apprentice painters when needed. Leadership by example, not just title.
Wallpaper Installer / Apprentice Experience is preferred but not required if you’re motivated to learn. Take a look at our YouTube channel to get an honest preview of the work involved. Additional training resources are available through the Wallcovering Installers Association.
What to Expect
We work Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, and our goal is to provide you with 32 to 40 hours every week. Most of our jobs are within 30 minutes of Elgin, though we occasionally take on projects in other parts of the Chicagoland area, including downtown, the south suburbs, and the north suburbs.
We provide company shirts because we take pride in showing up clean and professional on every jobsite.
Beyond the trade itself, you’ll have the opportunity to learn real business skills.. sales, marketing, and the basics of running a small operation. We want our team members to grow, not just execute.
This is physical work. It involves heavy lifting, climbing ladders, working on scaffolding, and getting your hands dirty. You’ll be exposed to latex, acrylic, and oil-based products, some containing mildicides, as well as dust and household pets in residential settings. If that’s the kind of day you’re built for, you’ll fit right in here.

We’re looking for people who are happy, curious, and optimistic.. team members who are coachable, willing to teach others, and genuinely interested in helping a company grow. You don’t need to have done this for years. You do need to show up, care about the work, and be someone your teammates can count on.
You’ll also need to be able to communicate clearly with staff, customers, and vendors at various stages of a project. Reliable transportation is required, along with the ability to read and write in English, use a smartphone or tablet for timekeeping and daily work logs, and stay reachable by phone and text throughout the day.
