As you you look at paint colors, you talk to friends or family about the wallpaper – dread comes upon you. The thought of removing wallpaper, the mess it will make, how long will it take, will it come off or do I even know how? Maybe I should hire someone but I don’t know How much it will Cost to remove Wallpaper?

The simple is- mask everything off, plan for 3x more time than you think you will need, and make sure you have paid version of music player- while your stripping the wallpaper – the last thing while your frustrated is those stupid pharmacy commercials where you may have the red spot on your arm dissaper but you also may have uncontrolled bleeding, headaches, blurred vision, trouble sleeping, loose bowel movements, uncontrolled sneezing, and the inability to have sex- but hey your arm will look great!

So to start, there will be a catch all as we will say -our base price is $1.25 a square foot (min$489) but after that we charge $75.00 per hour.
Hidden cost of wallpaper removal
While we give the cost to remove wallpaper above, there are issue we cannot control.
While working in Chicago, we were able to remove the paper with little effort due to the age of paper and the prep work that was done.
However, while removing wallpaper in Naperville, we had to use a steamer because it was so difficult to remove from the walls
These are two examples of easy and hard. There is also the middle of the road where some comes off easy, some does not- which gets to be very difficult to navigate with some of our customers. We guess it will take 8 hours but it ends up taking 16- not fun conversations.
We have no idea if the wallpaper installer or wallpaper contractor did the work correctly before putting up those sheets of paper.
IF– there is no primer on a wall- you are in for a long and expensive fix. IF the walls were primed correctly, the wallpaper should come off the wall easily enough.
Some of the wildcards of cost to wallpaper removal is getting all the glue off the walls, then we may have to do some drywall repairs also.
