There are many reasons we receive calls from potential customers regarding residential painting. Interior house painting can be as simple as painting one wall in one room or painting every surface in a home from attic to basement.
Whole house painting- where do we start?
That my friend is a loaded question. Where do we start depends on what you want to get painted. Some of the areas that can painted in your home are:
- ceilings
- walls
- doors
- trim
- windows
- drywall repairs
These are all items that you will have to consider when we are coming to your home for an estimate to paint your home. In the video above you can see a walkthrough of the home we are starting to paint.
How do the walls and ceilings look?
- Are there areas in the wall or ceilings that have cracks which need to be repaired?
- When was the last time the surfaces were painted?
- Do you have a lot of holes that need to be repaired?
Are you thinking of painting trim?
- Has the paint turned yellow?
- When you look at the trim has the caulk separated from the walls?
- As you look at where the trim is joined together, are there cracks or gaps?
- Maybe you have stained floors and there is stain on the trim that needs painted?
These are two big questions and the trim really can add to the cost of interior house painting.
How much will it cost to paint a whole house?
This is like asking how much will a new car cost me. It depends what you want.
As we consider the trim, ceilings, walls, and repairs, everything is related to the cost. If we are painting everything- although it will cost quite a bit to paint everything we can shave some hours by doing more. For example, if we are painting all the trim, we can mask and spray everything, which looks awesome!!! but also saves time in the application.
How much time do we need to fix the drywall? That can eat away a ton of time!!
If you are thinking of painting stairs. balasters, handrails, kick plates, risers etc., there is a lot of time in masking areas off.
Have you considered what kind of sheen you want? Even the type of paint you need- ie bathroom paint? It will make a difference in the final cost of painting your whole house.
How long will it take to paint my whole house?
Our average time to paint a whole home is about 1-3 weeks, as it does depend on how many guys are on the job, and what we are doing. Short answer is it will depend.
So here is an another video on a whole house painting job we did, almost done.
We hope this kind of helps answer all of your interior house painting questions, but if not, let us know. We love to see how we can help you love the space you’re in!
