This is a great time to be a tradesman! We did a blog a few weeks ago about becoming a painter…here is part 2!

One of the good and bad things about painting, is that not every painting company is the same. What does that mean? This means you have options for the type of contractor you would like to work for.

  • interior home painting
  • exterior home painting
  • decorative painting
  • commercial painting
  • residential painting
  • new construction

These are several ways and types of painting each of these, not to mention how big of an operation (or small) you become a crew with.

Why we are different.

If you have not read our ad or website, there are a few things that set us apart from other contractors.

We are a faith based company. It’s our belief that if you come to us, you have unique talents that we hope would work here, and if not look forward to seeing where those talents can be used to make sure you enjoy what you do. It has been our privilege to find employees positions not only at other companies but in other states! It is the power of mastermind groups and conventions that make this possible.

Another great benefit is that we are not just a paint company. Other services we offer:

  • residential wallpaper
  • commercial wallpaper
  • cabinet painting
  • cabinet repairs
  • decorative painting
  • custom mural painting

There are those that will want to learn as many aspects of what we do as possible, others will specialize. The choice is yours.

What you can expect when being hired as a painter.

For the most part, we are looking for people that do have experience,  but it is not required. We do send you to some online training courses, some are ours, some are offered through organizations such as the PCA (Paint Contractors Association). There are ladder safety courses, basic hand tools, protective wear, to name a few.

There are some other things that we do as a company such as background checks.  These are done for our insurance and for the peace of mind of our customers.

One other thing we do is have you complete a DISC personal assessment.  This finds what you are good at and how we can help you learn and grow with us, but the results are yours to do what you wish.

We have a online training module. This tracks where you are at in the process of your on-boarding paper work, as well as your training in the field.  We want to make sure where you are in your abilities and performance so when it comes time for a raise- we know where you are at.

We have expectations. It usually take about 2 weeks to be able to find out if you are a fit.

Physical requirements for a painter

Every company is different in the requirements they need from their employees. As you have read what we do, the physical requirements vary. In general…

  • You will need to be able to drive.
  • Standing is the bulk of the day.
  • There will be times when being on your knees is required.
  • Repetitive bending down then getting up.
  • Lifting, 50-80 lbs.
  • Climbing ladders.
  • Being in high places.
  • Be able to communicate in writing and orally how jobs are going.

Other things that we use are smart phone to give you the location of jobs, work orders etc, and keep track of your timesheets.

How can you apply to be a part of the D’franco team and become a painter?

You can email us your resume, apply through our ads on Indeed, or just give us a call.

We look forward to finding out how your unique talents can improve our company!
